Support for every step forward at the Learning Centre

Helping children continue learning and building confidence in everyday life.

The Ronald McDonald House Learning Centre is one of the main ways we support families in the community. Inaugurated in 2019, it was created to make specialist learning and developmental support easier to access, particularly for families living in the north of the island.

Today, the centre is used by children and families, together with more than 26 partnering voluntary organisations and specialists who deliver therapy, learning support, training, and group activities within this shared community space.

New at the Learning Centre:

The Motor Sensory Room

In 2025, Ronald McDonald House Malta introduced a dedicated motor sensory room – a calm, inclusive space designed to support children who benefit from sensory and movement-based activities.

The room provides a safe, home-like environment where children can explore, play and continue developing important motor, sensory and self-regulation skills.

The space also encourages parents and guardians to actively engage with their child outside of therapy sessions. For many families who may not have access to specialised sensory equipment at home, the room offers a supportive setting to spend meaningful time together while promoting their child’s wellbeing and development.

This valuable addition to the Learning Centre was made possible through the generosity and support of Ronald McDonald House Malta’s donors and partners.
