Supporting the Ukrainian Community in Malta

Over the past three years, Ronald McDonald House Malta has proudly supported the Ukrainian community through dedicated wellbeing and family-focused initiatives. In collaboration with the Franciscan Welfare Association and through specialised Ronald McDonald programmes, children and mothers have been provided with emotional, social, and developmental support in a safe and welcoming environment.

Mandala Women’s Circles
Mandala Women’s Circles is an emotional wellbeing and support programme designed for Ukrainian women who have experienced displacement, loss, and trauma. Through guided group discussions, mandala weaving, metaphoric cards, mindfulness, and creative activities, participants are encouraged to express emotions, build resilience, strengthen social connections, and support one another in a safe and nurturing environment. The programme runs once every two weeks from October 2025 to June 2026.
Bright Horizons
Bright Horizons is a developmental and wellbeing programme for Ukrainian refugee children in Malta, focused on supporting emotional health, social development, and resilience through structured play, creative activities, teamwork, and family engagement. The programme helps children develop emotional awareness, manage stress and anxiety, strengthen confidence and empathy, and foster a sense of belonging within their new community. Sessions are held weekly from November 2025 to June 2026, with additional cooking sessions included.
Summer Bright Horizons Programme
Summer Bright Horizons is a creative arts and development summer programme for Ukrainian refugee children that combines emotional wellbeing support with music, drama, dance, movement, crafts, and creative play. Through interactive and expressive activities, children are encouraged to explore emotions, develop confidence, strengthen teamwork and communication skills, and build positive social connections in a supportive and joyful environment. The programme runs once every two weeks between July and September 2026 and includes cooking sessions.
